Hey Tony, I won't be up there this weekend but was thinking about the 3rd weekend in january (16/17). Probably could be convinced to go on the 9th or 10th too! Looking forward to some burbot action.
I'll let you know how this weekend goes. In the past we've usually gotten 2 good weekends so this weekend will probably predict if 16/17th is worth a shot
It's in the arrowhead region, not really my spot to share. Your location says WI, where abouts? I've done well in Chequamegon and I know they are targetable in Winnebago and Green Bay / Lake Michigan. Probably up in the colder lakes in the NE part of the state too, though I've never tried there. I've caught one trout fishing near Eau Claire too but that was a tiny one
The Nemadji has been good to me in the past, I haven't fished it recently. If they aren't in there yet - they should be soon. That's a place worth fishing during the day too, it seems to produce daytime Burbot more than most places
I'll be heading up to Gooseneck pretty early Saturday morning. Hope to start the day at the normal area and if too many yahoos show up then we should line up 50 yards downstream and low-hole everybody. Catch all the Burbot on their way upstream before they even get to em.
I'll be venturing up to the Gooseneck the next weekend (9-10th) for a few pout, hopefully I'll still run into a few of y'all
"I swear if you catch another drum"
I'll almost certainly see you out there that weekend too. I'll be hitting it once each of the next 2 or 3 weekend depending on how things go

It sounds like a couple others might be going up to try this weekend also. I'm really looking forward to hearing of your report.
I would like to come out this weekend and try for some burbot. I haven't caught any for 20 years. Where do you guys go?
Timothy

I am near Superior, WI. I tried out on the Nemaji last night but no luck.
